| Name of Event: U.S. Bureau of Reclamation |
Service: 100th Anniversary White House Party |
June, 2002 |
| Location: Hoover Dam, NV & AZ |
Size: For 2400 people |
|
Served, simultaneously, a Sit-down Dinner for 300 Senators, Congressmen, Governors, and Senior White House officials and Buffet for 2100 top employees and retirees. It has become the ONLY party I know of that has taken place in two states at the same time.
- Submitted 450 plus name to secret service to get 250 workers approved to work.
- They had 575 plus security personnel to work the event, including Navy SEALs in the water, Ranger snipers in the towers and a full Triage set-up with medical personnel for emergency surgeries. This event was 9 months after 9/11!
- Designed a 110 foot by 8 foot kitchen to work out of that spanned the Colorado River in the Hoover Dams machine shop to service the Nevada and Arizona sides.
- Had to bring in generators for power and had nothing but a mop sink in a closet for water- which is all ironic considering the Hoover Dam provides power and water to majority of the Southwestern United States.
